What are the classification of metal stamping die?

Metal stamping parts manufacturers have their own die departments, often making metal stamping die. So, what are the categories of hardware molds?

According to the nature of die processing technology classification

A. Metal die where the material is separated by a closed or open profile. Such as blanking die, punching die, cutting die, incision die, cutting die, cutting die and so on.

B. The bending die makes the blank or other blank bend along the straight line (bending line), so as to obtain a certain angle and shape of the workpiece stamping die.

C. Deep drawing die is a metal mold that makes blank sheet material into open hollow parts or further changes the shape and size of hollow parts.

D. Forming die is a mold that directly replicates the blank or semi-finished workpiece according to the shape of convex and concave die, while the material itself only produces local plastic deformation. Such as expansion die, shrinkage die, flaring die, rolling forming die, flanging die, plastic die and so on.

A. Single process die A stamping die that completes only one stamping process in one stroke of a press.

B. The compound die has only one station. In one stroke of the press, two or more stamping processes can be completed at the same station at the same time.

C. Progressive die (also called continuous die) in the blank feeding direction, with two or more stations, in a press stroke, in different stations to complete two or more stamping process of the die.

Typical mold structure

Usually the mold is composed of two types of parts:

The first type is the process parts, which directly participate in the completion of the process and have direct contact with the blank, including working parts, positioning parts, unloading and pressing parts, etc.

The second type is structural parts. These kind of parts do not directly participate in the completion of the process, also do not have direct contact with the blank, only the mold to complete the process plays a role in ensuring, or the function of the mold plays a role in improving, including guide parts, fastening parts, standard parts, and other parts. It should be pointed out that not all stamping die must have the above six parts, especially the single process die, but the working parts and the necessary fixed parts are indispensable.
